Chamber of Commerce Federation

quad city chamber federationTackling common business issues and heightening the image of the Quad Cities is the main thrust for members of the Quad City Chamber of Commerce Federation. The Federation, a nonprofit organization, comprises three members: the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce, DavenportOne and the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce. The Federation neither replaces nor combines the chambers of commerce.

“The Quad City Chamber of Commerce Federation is a vehicle for launching joint and collaborative events, projects and initiatives,” said Bob Gallagher, Federation
chairman. “In doing so, it also provides an avenue for eliminating duplication of efforts among chambers. More importantly, the Federation provides us with the opportunity to take select projects and initiatives to a higher level,” he said.

Three business leaders from each chamber make up the group that will be working on projects cooperatively to benefit all businesses and communities. The chambers’ presidents also are part of the mix to add their expertise and ideas as non-voting members.

Each chamber has committed staff to assist the Federation and will provide some measure of financial support.

The Federation’s officers are: Jeff Nelson, chairman (representing Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce); Kim Guy, vice chair (representing Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce); and Jim Russell, secretary/treasurer (representing DavenportOne).
